Healthy Homes, Beautifully Designed

Healthy Homes
Moody Powder Bathroom design

A home should be as good to live in as it is to look at.

The materials that make a home feel elevated — natural quartzite, solid wood, real stone, wool and linen — are almost always the same ones that keep its air clean. You’d choose them on looks alone, and not one of them is off-gassing into your home.

We build for both at once, and build to a baseline of cleaner air and healthier materials on every project. You’re not choosing between a home you love and a home that’s good for you. They come from the same place.

How Far You Take It Is Up To You

1. Good — the baseline, on every project

The floor, not an upgrade — built into every Restart home at little or no added cost, because most of it is simply knowing what to specify:

  • Range hoods and bath fans vented to the outside, sized to actually clear the air
  • Higher-grade (MERV-13) filtration on the HVAC
  • Low- and zero-VOC paints, finishes, adhesives, and caulks
  • Natural, non-porous surfaces — stone, porcelain, real wood — over vinyl and LVP
  • Mold-resistant board and proper waterproofing in kitchens, baths, and basements
  • Lead-free plumbing, flushed and tested

2. Better — what most of our clients choose

Real, noticeable gains for a modest investment — and every one is a design upgrade and a health upgrade at the same time:

  • Solid wood or formaldehyde-free cabinetry with water-based finishes — the single biggest air-quality win in most homes
  • Natural stone or sintered-stone counters instead of resin-based engineered stone
  • Lime plaster or limewash on a feature wall — breathable, zero-VOC, and beautiful
  • Induction cooking, for a kitchen with no combustion in the air
  • Under-sink or whole-home water filtration, and a filtered shower
  • Natural-fiber textiles and rugs — wool and linen over synthetics
  • More daylight by design — larger or better-placed windows and glass doors

3. Best — the whole system

Usually new construction or a whole-home project, where we shape the house from the studs out:

  • Mechanical fresh-air ventilation (ERV/HRV) so the whole home breathes continuously
  • Whole-home air purification and advanced water treatment
  • Formaldehyde-free, flame-retardant-free insulation that resists mold
  • A carefully sealed, moisture-managed building envelope — the root of a healthy house
  • Circadian, tunable lighting that supports natural sleep rhythms
  • Indoor air-quality monitoring — humidity, CO2, and particulates
  • EMF-conscious wiring layouts, for the families who want them

How do we decide?

We ask you. Early — during design, before selections, because that’s when it’s free to decide and expensive to change later.

You tell us what you actually care about. We tell you honestly what moves the needle and what doesn’t, what costs real money and what doesn’t. Then we build the plan around your priorities and your budget — not a package we’re trying to sell.

Nobody needs all of it. Everybody deserves the baseline.

Lehigh Valley Pa Custom Kitchen And Bath Design And Remodel

Considering a healthy home in the Lehigh Valley or Bucks County?

A lot of builders use low-VOC paint. That’s a start — but it’s the surface.

Consider the sheetrock, the framing, the insulation, the ducts carrying your air, the adhesives holding the cabinets together, the grout on the tile? And the biggest source of all — the moisture that invites mold? We think about the whole house, from the foundation up. That’s the difference between checking a box and building a home that’s actually healthy.

We design, build  and renovate healthy, beautiful homes throughout the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County — Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Emmaus, Saucon Valley, Center Valley, Doylestown, and beyond. Handling both the design and the construction ourselves means the healthy details never get lost between two companies.

From the design phase to project completion, their communication was great and we felt supported every step of the way.
